Her debut film was together with Burt Lancaster in The Midnight Man which was released in 1973. She followed this up with Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.
However, it was her role as Daisy Duke that propelled her to the limelight. That outfit that she was sporting in the show? She gets the credit for it since she was actually the one who came up with it. The producers were thinking of her wearing a turtleneck top, skirt, and boots. The duo eventually reunited to do The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour but as soon as their separation became legal, Cher went back to solo. Not only was he acting on-screen, but he also appeared in plays like Macbeth, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet, just to name a few. What endeared her to the public was her signature squinty eyes and tough persona. Her facial features were a bit off-kilter but this just added to her overall beauty. This was also one of the reasons why she was cast in the Sea of Love which she co-starred with Al Pacino.
The actress got her degree in history and drama then pursued acting education at the Actors Studio in New York. After Diner, Barkin landed several roles like in Tender Mercies, The Big Easy, Switch, The White River Kid, and Ocean’s Thirteen. ANGELA LANSBURY | 95 years old
Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury D.B.E. is a British-American actress who has appeared in numerous stage, film, and television productions with a career spanning over eight decades. She is known for being the only surviving Academy Award nominee and one of the last remaining Golden Age of Hollywood stars. Lansbury is the daughter of Irish actress Moyna Macgill and English politician Edgar Lansbury and was born into an upper-middle-class household in central London. She later moved to the United States in 1940 in order to avoid the Blitz, studying acting in New York City.
Not long after, in 1942, she proceeded to Hollywood. A feat for the time, she managed to obtain a role in the 1944 psychological thriller film Gaslight, which later paved the way for her role in the horror-drama film a year later, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Despite being in just two films, the actress quickly earned two Oscar nominations but winning an Academy Award, making the actress one of the oldest surviving Academy Award awardees.
