Rowan Atkinson | 67 years old

Most notable for his performances in the titular sitcoms Mr. Bean and Blackadder, Rowan Atkinson has been given credit as one of the funniest actors of his time. He gained prominence in the BBC’s sketch comedy show Not the Nine O’clock News, in which Atkinson won the Best Entertainment Performance award in the 1981 BAFTA. He has also starred in several films with considerable commercial success in the years that followed, such as the 1994 movie The Lion King, where he did the voice of the red-billed hornbill Zazu.

Atkinson was listed among the 50 funniest actors in British comedy by a poll made by fellow comedians in 2005 and The Observer newspaper in 2007. Over the years, the comedian-actor has collaborated with composer Howard Goodall and screenwriter Richard Curtis, whom Atkinson met from the Oxford University Dramatic Society in the 1970s. Furthermore, he also received an Olivier Award in 1981 for his theatre performance in West End’s Rowan Atkinson in Revue.
