Sidney Poitier and William Daniels are both iconic actors who were very prominent, especially in the latter half of the 20th century. Sidney Poitier, however, had a much more storied and inspiring career. He was the first black person to win the coveted Best Actor Award at the 1964 Academy Awards for his iconic role as Homer Smith in the critically acclaimed film Lilies of the Field. Because of his win, he has inspired many young black actors to follow in his footsteps, the most famous being Denzel Washington.

At 93 years of age, he is still going strong, and although he has already retired from the industry, we think it’s safe to say that he has been enjoying a comfortable life with his substantial net worth of $25 million.
