Did you know that the 2000 film reboot of the popular Charlie’s Angels show could have been much different? The movie we all saw starred Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz, and Drew Barrymore as its leads. However, prior to filming, the role of Alex Munday was originally offered to Angelina Jolie! The actress had to decline since she was not really a fan of the original series from the 70s. It might surprise you to learn that before Liu landed the role, it was also offered to other talented actresses such as Thandie Newton and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Considering the success of the reboot and the amazing chemistry between its cast, we’re quite glad that it turned out the way it did! It’s really interesting how casting choices can make such a big difference, right? In this case, Liu was the right investment for the film.
