Julia Roberts | Leigh Anne Tuohy – The Blind Side

Julia Roberts was offered the role of feisty mom Leigh Anne Tuohy in the 2009 football flick The Blind Side. She turned it down because she had a prior commitment to star in the ensemble romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, which was directed by Garry Marshall. Marshall is given credit as the man who made the actress a huge star with Pretty Woman. The Blind Side role went to an equally talented actress, Sandra Bullock, instead. Despite her heavy-handed Southern accent, Bullock won an Oscar.

Roberts is a highly-acclaimed actress who established herself as a leading star in Hollywood. Her breakout role was in Pretty Woman, a movie that achieved a high number of ticket sales for a romantic comedy at the time, making over $400 million worldwide. Other notable film projects of hers include My Best Friend’s Wedding, Erin Brockovich, and Notting Hill.
