It’s hard to picture the handsome A-list actor as scheming slacker Ferris Bueller, but Johnny Depp was reportedly asked to play the lead part in John Hughes’ 1980s classic film. As we all know, the role went to Matthew Broderick, who is widely known for his work on this project.

Anyhow, Depp received other renowned movie roles and went on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest male stars. To date, his successful films have grossed over $3 billion in the U.S. and nearly $9 billion worldwide at the box office. His yearly salary in some years reached $100 million, easily landing him on the list of the world’s highest-paid actors. His financial advisors probably manage a portion of his salaries, backend profits and bonuses, and endorsement deals. It was also reported that his monthly lifestyle at the peak of his career cost a staggering $2 million.
