Steve Martin has earned many awards throughout his distinguished career in Hollywood, including an Honorary Academy Award in 2013 at the 5th Annual Governors Awards, five Grammy Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Other honors that he received were the Kennedy Center Honors, AFI Life Achievement Award, and Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. In the 1960s, the comedy actor worked as a writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.
Later on, he became a frequent host on Saturday Night Live. Eventually, Martin began a series of successful comedy show tours. He also starred in films like Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, Three Amigos, and L.A. Story, among many other movies between the early 1970s and early 1990s. He went on to earn film credits in multiple movies leading up to the 2000s, with films such as Pink Panther and It’s Complicated. Aside from his acting profession, Martin has also written a couple of books from 1977 up to 2020.
