ANGELA LANSBURY | 96 years old

Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury D.B.E. is a British-American actress who has appeared in numerous stage, film, and television productions with a career spanning over eight decades. She is known for being the only surviving Academy Award nominee and one of the last remaining Golden Age of Hollywood stars. Lansbury is the daughter of Irish actress Moyna Macgill and English politician Edgar Lansbury and was born into an upper-middle-class household in central London. She later moved to the United States in 1940 in order to avoid the Blitz, studying acting in New York City.

Not long after, in 1942, she proceeded to Hollywood. A feat for the time, she managed to obtain a role in the 1944 psychological thriller film Gaslight, which later paved the way for her role in the horror-drama film a year later, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Despite being in just two films, the actress quickly earned two Oscar nominations but winning an Academy Award, making the actress one of the oldest surviving Academy Award awardees.
