Serena Williams

At just four years old, Serena Williams was learning about the ins and outs of tennis. With the gift of retrospect, it’s safe to say the training she’s had since then has become quite an investment for her career in the sport. Now regarded as one of the all-time greatest tennis players, Williams has become a proud titleholder of numerous championships, including 23 Grand Slams and four Olympic gold medals. Even so, that doesn’t mean this athlete is not without her shortcomings.

Despite the many achievements she has made throughout her career, Williams also became quite a controversial figure due to a few incidents on the court. These were the times when she’d slam her racket and give unpleasant remarks to the staff, notably the linesperson and the umpire. Of course, this behavior resulted in the tennis player receiving consequences, one of which was the two-year probation she got after a match against Kim Clijsters back in 2009’s US Open’s semifinal round.
